A Dubuquque woman was arrested Sunday after she was charged with murder and other crimes after allegedly killing six people and injuring more than a dozen others in a fatal truck crash in southwest Indiana.
Investigators say 32-year-old Brittany Johnson was driving a silver 2009 Ford Ranger when it veered off the road and struck a pickup truck on Jan. 6, a day before the fatal crash in Dubuques.
Investigators said Johnson hit three people on the truck and then fled the scene, leaving behind a bloodied pickup truck that she abandoned.
Investigators with the Dubuquer County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that Johnson had a history of driving while impaired.
She was arrested on Friday and faces a charge of murder.
A preliminary hearing for Johnson is set for Monday.
